"Future Through Learning"
Al-Aqsa National School, located in the Kinniya Divisional Secretariat of Trincomalee, Eastern Province, was established in 1928. It began with just two teachers and 28 students, with Mrs. Katharin Amma serving as the first principal.
In 1979, the school introduced Grade 6 classes, marking a key milestone in its growth. By 1984, the first batch of students successfully sat for the Ordinary Level (O/L) examinations. Advanced Level (A/L) classes were inaugurated in 1986, leading to the school's upgrade to a 1C status. Among the first A/L batch, a student was admitted to a Law Faculty, a significant achievement for the school.
In 1992, Al-Aqsa National School was designated as a boys' school. It continued its upward trajectory and was recognized as a leading 1AB school in 1999. As part of the government's 1000 Schools Development Scheme, the school introduced the Technology stream in the Kinniya Zone, further expanding its educational offerings.
